Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The Lord Jesus, after he was baptized by John, was led into the wilderness by the Holy Spirit and spent forty days and nights in prayer and fasting. During this time he was tempted by the devil and suffered hunger and thirst for our sake and for our salvation. Therefore, Jesus is able to help us in our weakness to resist temptation and to do good in the sight of God. May our discipline of Lent, our prayer, fasting and charity help us to resist evil and to grow in holiness.
This Sunday afternoon, there will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament immediately following the Noon Mass until 4 pm. At 4pm we will celebrate Evening Prayer and close with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. I know how difficult it is to find the time to pray, but we need to come together as a community of faith to pray for the healing of our Church. The Church was founded by Jesus Christ and we need to draw closer to Him in the Blessed Sacrament to ask for mercy and forgiveness of our sins. Please come to church this afternoon to spend some time in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament.
In Christ,
Fr. Thomas
