Dear Brothers and Sisters,

“There was a Wedding at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there….” With these words Saint John the Evangelist opens one of the most beautiful accounts in the New Testament. Only in the Gospel of John do we encounter the extraordinary miracle of the changing of the water into wine. At the request of His Mother, Jesus performs this miracle that announces the beginning of His public ministry and the Coming of the Reign of God.

At Cana, the new wine that is poured out prefigures the Blood of Christ which will be poured out for our salvation. Our Lady’s complete trust in Her Son is our model for Christian Discipleship. “Do Whatever He tells you,” should be our motto for the New Year 2019.

Next Sunday, January 27th, marks the beginning of Catholic Schools Week. There will be an Open House immediately following the 10am Mass. Breakfast will be served in the Parish Hall. Please come and support our excellent Catholic School.
