The sacraments touch all the stages and all the important moments of Christian life: they give birth and increase, healing and mission to the Christian's life of faith.
Sacrament of Baptism Infant Baptisms are celebrated on Sundays at 1:15pm by appointment only, except during the Lenten season.
Baptism Preparation Classes, required for parents of infants and young children (under 7), are held on the 4th Tuesday of each month in the Parish Center. Please contact the Parish Office at 732-257-7722 to register for the class.
Godparents (Sponsors) must be practicing Catholics and at least 14 years of age and have received the Sacrament of Confirmation. If sponsors are not from Saint Bartholomew, they must have a letter of eligibility from their Pastor. A practicing non-Catholic Christian may act as a witness along with a Catholic Sponsor.
Children over the age of reason (7) are properly initiated within the RCIA program.
Sacrament of Reconciliation & Eucharist Individual Confessions are heard on Saturdays from 3:30 - 4:30 pm. Appointments may be made to receive the Sacrament at other times by calling the Parish Center at 732-257-7722.
Penance Services with individual confessions are also scheduled during the Seasons of Lent and Advent.
Eucharist is celebrated daily and on Sundays. Please see full mass schedule here.
Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) We welcome all unbaptized individuals, friends, family members and neighbors who are not Roman Catholic Christians or those individuals within the Catholic Tradition who may have never received the Sacraments of the Holy Eucharist or Confirmation to participate in our parish program for adult Christian Initiation at this time. This program is also ideal for baptized Christians of other Christian denominations who are interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith.
This preparation process for anyone who seeks membership in the Catholic Church is an ongoing one. Interested persons are invited to begin the process at any time during the year.
Contact the Parish Office at 732-257-7722 for more information.
Sacrament of Matrimony To prepare to receive the Sacrament of Matrimony couples must attend a series of sessions.
Sacrament of the Sick The Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist and the Anointing of the Sick are available to members of our parish who are sick or homebound upon request. Please inform the parish concerning the needs of the sick or homebound by calling the Parish Center at 732-257-7722.
In an emergency after hours, please call the rectory at 732-257-8190.
